![]() ![]() Day One The 2002 Sheriffs' Academy began Saturday, July 6, 2002, with the arrival of the Senior Counselors and Staff Members. After the excitement of seeing everyone again, the Staff took the Senior Counselors on a tour of the Cabell County Jail. Staff member, Dianne Brubaker, arranged and headed up this tour. The Seniors received a small taste of what life behind bars is really like. I'm not going to mention any names, but 3 of our Senior males really got an upclose and personal experience!!! ~grin~ After returning to the dorms, the Seniors had a lot of work to do before the arrival of the Junior Counselors and the Cadets on Sunday. The Seniors were responsible for removing every single telephone cord from every room on eight floors. They had to make up the room assignment sheets and post them by the door of each room and after all that, they had to divide up T-Shirts, key chains and hand booklets. Every arriving Junior Counselor and Cadet received a bag containing 5 T-Shirts, one key ring and a hand book. All of this had to be done before the Seniors could enjoy their last peaceful night's sleep for the rest of the week! On to Day 2 |
